Noise Exclusive: Shine Bright Share Sensational And Thought-Provoking Single “Jamais Vu”

Before we start, we’ve all experienced deja vu before right? No, not that Denzel Washington movie from 2006. We’re talking about the overwhelming sensation you feel when you think you’ve experienced or seen something before but you know you haven’t. Yeah, you know what we’re talking about.

Okay so now, getting to the topic at hand, imagine the complete reversal of that. Picture being at home or in a familiar area and everything around you is unknown and foreign – that, my friends, is jamais vu and the topic of post-hardcore outfit Shine Bright’s new single which The Noise is beyond stoked to be premiering for you all today.

“Jamais vu: the opposite of deja vu,” explains the Standby Records signees discussing their thought-provoking track and forthcoming five-track EP. “[The] More Wild Than The Wind EP is about transition; moving from one point of your life to another. ‘Jamais Vu’ is more or less a song about the feeling of being thrown into a situation where nothing is familiar, even if it’s something you’ve known your whole life.”

While the idea of jamais vu might be new to some, we’re pretty sure the sound of Shine Bright won’t. Harkening back to the mid-2000s post-hardcore sound as heard by bands like Thrice, Underoath and more, the Utah quintet stylishly tip-toe between calm and atmospheric musicianship and loud and thunderous vocals.
